Explore the wonderful affinities and relationships between design, architecture and art.

Moroso, a company with a longstanding history of research and experimentation, presents on the occasion of the Milan Salone del Mobile the new products and previews for 2015. A selection which reflects, in the cultural and material quality of the pieces presented, the unique nature of the design approach, aimed at combining industrial production processes with the talent of the over 60 master craftsmen and the personalities of the different designers. A distinctive ability to listen and to immediately translate in concrete terms, what most represents the special feature of the company: imagining the living space as a set of worlds which, going beyond the obvious and the conventional, enhances and promotes difference as a positive value in which to identify and relate .

The link between Moroso and contemporary art, its ability to interact with multifaceted figures such as the gallery owner, publisher and designer Jörg Schellmann, together with a selection of iconic pieces of the brand restyled with a totally new interpretation, will be the protagonists at Vis à Vis, the display which will light up the showroom on via Pontaccio to celebrate this year’s Fuori Salone.

A “crazy fantasy” projection which integrates the production of single furnishing and decoration accessories with upholstered seating systems, made it possible by an aptitude for quality manufacturing which interprets the design project as a kind of small architecture, necessarily built on a direct and constant dialogue with the art world.

[intense_tab title=”Ron Arad” active=”1″]Born in Tel Aviv in 1951, educated at the Jerusalem Academy of Art and later at the Architectural Association in London, Ron Arad co-founded with Caroline Thorman the design and production studio One Off in 1981 and later, in 1989, Ron Arad Associates architecture and design practice.
In 2008 Ron Arad Architects was established alongside Ron Arad Associates. [/intense_tab]
[intense_tab title=”Martino Gamper”]Martino Gamper (b. 1971, Merano, Italy) lives and works in London.
Starting as an apprentice with a furniture maker in Merano, Gamper went on to study sculpture under Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna.
He completed a Masters in 2000 from the Royal College of Art, London, where he studied under Ron Arad.
Working across design and art venues, Martino Gamper engages in a variety of projects from exhibition design, interior design, one-off commissions and the design of mass-produced products for the cutting edge of the international furniture industry.[/intense_tab]
[intense_tab title=”David Adjaye”]David Adjaye OBE is recognized as a leading architect of his generation.
Adjaye was born in Tanzania to Ghanaian parents and his influences range from contemporary art, music and science to African art forms and the civic life of cities.
In 1994 he set up his first office, where his ingenious use of materials and his sculptural ability established him as an architect with an artist’s sensibility and vision.[/intense_tab]
[intense_tab title=”Ross Lovegrove”]Born in 1958, Lovegrove studied industrial design at Manchester Polytechnic and at the Royal College of Art in London.
He began his career at Frogdesign, where he was assigned to projects for Apple and Sony.
Lovegrove went on to work throughout Europe, then later returned to England.
Since founding his outstanding design manufactures. He is currently working on a number of projects in Japan where he enjoys unparalleled success as a European designer.[/intense_tab]
[intense_tab title=”Patricia Urquiola”]Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo (Spain) in 1961. Lives and works in Milan. She attended the School of Architecture of Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni.
From 1990 to 1992 she was assistant lecturer to both Achille Castiglioni and Eugenio Bettinelli in Milan and Paris.
From 1990 to 1996 she was responsible for the new product development office of DePadova, working with Vico Magistretti.
In 1996 she became head of Lissoni Associati’s design group.
In 2001 she opens her own studio working on product design, architecture, installations.
Amongst her last projects of architecture: Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona and W Retreat&Spa a Vieques (Puerto Rico); a villa in Udine; scenography of the opera “L’incoronazione di Poppea” by Monteverdi; showroom and installations for Hermès, Gianvito Rossi, Flos, Moroso, H&M and the general concept of Pitti Immagine Firenze. She designs for the most important Italian and international firms as Agape, Alessi, Andreu World, Artelano, Axor, B&B Italia, Bart Design, Bisazza, BMW, Bosa, Budri, Chevalier Edition, Il Coccio, De Padova, De Vecchi, Driade, Emu, Fasem, Salvatore Ferragamo, Flos, Foscarini, Gallotti & Radice, Gandia Blasco, Glas Italia, Kartell, Kettal, Kvadrat, Mixing Media, Maurice Lacroix, Liv’it, Peter Mabeo, MDF Italia, Molteni, Moroso, Mutina, Olivari, Panasonic, Paola Lenti, Rosenthal, Champagne Ruinart, San Lorenzo, Tronconi, Viccarbe. Consulting for Honda and LG.
Some of her products are exposed in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York and other international museums. She has won several international prices and awards. Amongst others the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes 2010 awarded by the Spanish Government (2011) and the A&W Magazine nomination as Designer of the Year 2012.[/intense_tab]
