Patrizia Moroso receives the Order of Merit for Labour
On Thursday 23th of October at the Palazzo del Quirinale, Patrizia Moroso was bestowed with the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano.
This decoration is conferred to twenty-five Italian citizens each year, in recognition of their excellence in the fields of agriculture, industry, commerce, craftsmanship, credit and insurance, and of their significant contribution, through their business, to economic growth, social development and innovation. Ever since it was established in 1901, the businesspeople who have received the title have represented the entrepreneurial elite of Italy.
The nomination and ceremony were moments of great excitement for the entire company, and especially for Patrizia Moroso herself, as this honour is a powerful acknowledgement of her work both as art director for the brand and as a businesswoman in one of Italy’s most successful design companies.
Over the past twenty-five years, by combining technology and craftsmanship, Patrizia Moroso has succeeded in building up a collection of iconic products, all sharing the same essence, while maintaining the uniqueness and diversity of the local origins of each piece. With courage and determination she has managed to reconcile deep artisanal and sartorial know-how with industrial production processes, combining design, contemporary art and fashion to create her unmistakable stamp.
