Moroso in Palermo with Manifesta 12
Moroso will be in Palermo from 16 June to 4 November for Manifesta 12. The company’s products will be set up inside the prestigious Teatro Garibaldi, which will showcase artistic performances, panel discussions and events for the entire exhibition.
Now in its 12th edition, Manifesta is an important platform for the dialogue between art and society in Europe. Begun in the early 1990s in Amsterdam with the objective of reinterpreting the relationship between culture and society with dialogue, this nomadic biennial event is a site-specific cultural project that interacts with the social sphere.
Moroso has confirmed its collaboration with Manifesta as it is in line with its strong ties to the world of art and interaction with the social sphere. Its products were already featured in the work of artist Paola Pivi for the 10th edition, and this year, the company’s pieces will be found inside the Teatro Garibaldi in Palermo. Green Light tables by artist Olafur Eliasson, Impossible Wood chairs by Doshi Levien, and Supernatural chairs by Ross Lovegrove will be available to spectators, characterizing the environment with the style and feel of Moroso, transforming the theatre into a dynamic, multifunctional space.
The Green Light collection specifically was chosen for this event to represent how important art and humanitarian aid are to Moroso, thus confirming the strong link between the company’s core values and Manifesta’s aims. Actually, Green Light is the result of an artistic and social project conceived by artist Olafur Eliasson. The company decided it wanted to take part in this initiative, producing products by Olafur inspired by the project.
