London Design Festival 2019
Moroso will be involved in a host of events as part of the London Design Festival, which will run in the British capital from 14 to 22 September
The company will take part in the first edition of I-MADE (Italian Manufacture, Art and Design Exhibition) at the Saatchi Gallery, during London Design Festival.
The theme for the inaugural edition is “Take a Seat” with the exhibition set to showcase iconic seats by the most prestigious brands in Italian design. Giulio Cappellini has selected four Moroso seats designed by Patricia Urquiola: Fjord, Antibodi, Tropicalia and Lilo Wing. Moroso will also unveil the latest creation by Urquiola: the sofa and the armchair from the Gogan collection.
I-MADE will host a series of design meetings and round-table discussions. Patrizia Moroso will appear at the “Industry of Design in Italy” talk alongside Patricia Urquiola, Giulia Molteni, Roberto Gavazzi and Giulio Cappellini. The event will take place at 10:00 on Friday 20 September.
Moroso will also be participating in the Idiosincratico exhibition, curated by Jane Withers and taking place at the new Samsung concept store. The project “Metamorfosi: Behind, After or Beyond”project is created in collaboration with Moroso and originally launched to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary. In the project Gamper deconstructs iconic Moroso products by different designers. Lately it combines them to create a series of new design mash-ups. The exhibition will be open from 14 to 22 September at the new Samsung Store in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, London.
Moroso’s London showroom will be revamped to coincide with the London Design Festival. The company shows off the multi-faceted nature of its creative output with new products unveiled at the Milan Furniture Fair: Heartbreaker and Precious by Johannes Torpe and Modou Collection by Ron Arad. They are accompanied by iconic collections like Redondo and Mathilda by Patricia Urquiola. On display also more recent pieces such as Yumi by Bendtsen Design Associates and Tape by Benjamin Hubert.
