FuoriSalone 2019
M’Afrique Detached – 10 Years After
M’Afrique Detached – 10 Years After is the title of the event Moroso will host in via Pontaccio for the Fuori Salone 2019, with the intention of celebrating the ten years of life of the collection.
Designed by Marco Viola, who has also curated the staging of the whole space; the display is enriched by the visual frame created by Alessandro Paderni’s photography, that tells of an explosive, colorful and moving Africa, as shot during his last reportage done in Dakar.
Made in Senegal at M’Afrique Atelier by Abdou Salam Gaye, the M’Afrique collection is designed by Tord Boontje, Dominique Pétot, Ayse Birsel and Bibi Seck, Marc Thorpe, Patricia Urquiola, Federica Capitani, Concetta Giannangeli, David Weeks and Martino Gamper.
This year, 2019, join the roster of designers, Ron Arad, the artist who has worked with Moroso for years and is now designing for the first time for M’Afrique “The Modou Collection”; Antonino Sciortino, artist and sculptor from Palermo, with seats and tables called Dancers as a homage to his career as a dancer; and Gala Fernández, Spanish graphic designer and illustrator artist, with the Griot chairs, dedicated to a magical and spiritual Africa.
