From fiber to product: the exciting journey of a textile – Munich
The workshop, organized in collaboration with Kvadrat and held for the first time in 2016, has visited various cities over the years: London, Stockholm, Dubai, Singapore and Zurich, to name just a few. The new edition in Germany was staged on 18 October at the Kvadrat Munich venue. During the event, a prestigious jury decreed the winner among the designers and architects selected from the most important studios in Munich. The judging panel for this edition consisted of Elmar Hotlkamp from Avantgarde, Tanja Heuchele from Nomad Magazin and Beate Ohnesorge from Motel One.
The participants challenged each other in upholstering the miniature version of the GetLucky armchair, designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso, which plays on the design of binary geometry: a harmonious and successful interweaving between seat and back creates balanced geometric shapes. The architects created their own customized version of the GetLucky armchair in miniature using the vast range of Kvadrat fabrics: the creativity that the jury decreed as the best was rewarded with a GetLucky armchair by Moroso.
