ArtVerona
Moroso took part in ArtVerona once again in 2014, increasing its participation on the occasion of its 10th edition by developing an innovative concept in various areas at the event. The products selected for the art fair included the Supernatural chairs signed by Ross Lovegrove positioned in the Raw Zone, the area dedicated to unprecedented curatorial projects expressly oriented to research and open to the younger market, the Impossible Wood chairs designed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien that were admired at the Winery, and the Moon armchairs in metallized version by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka that graced the Talk area in Hall 12. The event’s Art Director is Andrea Bruciati, curator and conceiver together with Patrizia Moroso of the Moroso Prize for Contemporary Art, which was successfully staged in its 4th edition. Structured between Award, Exhibition, and Publication, the project was launched in 2010 with the precise objective of providing concrete opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists who have chosen to work primarily in Italy. The close bond between Moroso and Contemporary Art that has become a virtual trademark of the brand traces its roots to the creative spirit of Patrizia Moroso, who has always drawn inspiration from the world of art transferred to objects of daily use as a key part of inventing new ways to make product: “I’ve always asked my designers to try to imagine a world rather than an object – which is a kind of a different thing. Behind everything there’s always been a theory, a philosophy, an ambience; in short, it’s the life of the artist and his or her own vision that goes into every object designed” In this context, the brand’s participation at ArtVerona represented yet another link in the network of cultural activities that the company has always supported and dynamically promotes throughout the Italian peninsula and beyond. 9-13 October, Viale del Lavoro 8, 37135 Verona
